Welcome to Ping's Page

Hey man.  My name is Ping.  My middle name is Hercules but I am told that is sarcastic so whatever.  I was adopted by my wonderful mommy (and, okay, Daddy too) June 1, 1996.  My favorite things are laying on mommy and purring--when I can get Dad, the baby or the book out of the way--but eating plastic is high on my list of addictive behaviors too.  My favorite time of the day is treat time.  Ask me the question "What time is it?" and I will race to the kitchen to tell you. I am terrified of the broom--that thing is after me I swear--and I love to battle the supreme Tun for a moth or two.  I remember nothing of my upbringing except this:  there is no shame in eating asparagus, tomatos, black beans or corn.  Speaking of food, Gareth is launching some off the highchair now.  Yes! I did not like the kid much at first but I think we should keep him now!  Later dude!

History of my name:  Okay.  They brought me home.  I ran up on the table.  I buried my entire head in a bowl of pasta and mawed down.  I was just hungry!  But mom and dad were shocked by my "bad" behavior so they named me after the duck that gets in trouble in A Story About a Duck Named Ping.  (Dad also liked Ping because it is a computer term meaning to check out everything--which I did, and still do.) The middle photo shows me licking my chops in the hopes of getting a scrap, just a scrap, of food.  Come on people!   And, in the final picture I am shown eating a potato that I "stole" from the kitchen.  (I mean, do all you other cats know about the garbage disposal?  Nirvana!)   Okay, can we now give it up on the food nabbing thing already?  Geez--I was just being enterprising!

Left:  Here I am as a kitten. Aren't I darling?  Yeah, eat your heart out Tun-Tun.  The person holding me is mommy.  Oh, golly, I'm purring.  She just does that to a cat you know.

Right:  Tun will never admit it, but I will.  We really do love each other.
